Your home is ready when you arrive — and properly closed up after you leave.

Arrival & Departure

Your home is ready when you arrive — clean, warm, with every system running. And properly closed up after you leave: tidied, systems switched off, alarm armed, seasonal measures taken — the home prepared for your absence. So your time in Slovenia is for rest, not chores.

When you need this service

  • You land late at night after a long day of travel You want to go straight to bed in clean sheets in a warm room — not deal with a cold home and an empty fridge.
  • You're coming for a short holiday Spending the first day on shopping and cleaning means losing a third of your holiday. It makes more sense for the home to be ready by the time you arrive.
  • You're leaving in a hurry Closing up a home properly takes many steps. If you don't have the time for it — we do it after you leave.
  • You want to be sure everything works by the time you arrive We check the main systems in advance — heating, water heater, water supply, alarm. So a breakdown doesn't ruin your first day.
  • Guests are coming to stay Friends, family — the home needs to be prepared for their arrival, or they need to be received while you're away.
  • You're arriving in winter at a mountain or alpine home The home needs to be warmed up a day or two ahead and the heating checked. On departure — closed up properly for winter, so there are no problems before the next visit.

What the service includes

Arrival & Departure isn't a single cleaner's visit — it's a full set of work around your dates. For the home to genuinely greet you ready, and stay in perfect order after you leave, a typical cycle involves at least 8 hours of work — and it's usually carried out by different specialists across 3–4 separate visits. Before your arrival this means cleaning (deep cleaning if agreed), airing out, starting up the building systems and watching over them: switching equipment back on after a period of standstill isn't enough — it needs to be monitored, since faults most often happen at first start-up. After you leave — cleaning again, washing bed linen and towels, disposing of food, properly closing down the systems, seasonal measures and a careful closing of the home. That's why the price reflects it: you're paying not for a single visit, but for a full, considered "arrival + departure" cycle that takes every chore off your hands on both sides of the trip. More on each of these stages — in the article How to start up a home after an absence and close it down on departure.

Preparation for your arrival

The standard set for your arrival:

  • Cleaning of the house or apartment (regular or deep — as agreed)
  • Airing out all the rooms
  • Switching on and checking the main systems — heating, air conditioning, water heater, water supply, security alarm
  • Fresh bed linen and towels
  • Preparing rooms for family members or guests
  • A final walk-through and a "home is ready" photo report to our communication channel

Closing up after your departure

Proper closing-down of the property after you leave:

  • Cleaning after your stay
  • Washing bed linen and towels
  • Disposing of perishable food and rubbish
  • Switching off systems and seasonal closing-down (heating, air conditioning, water supply)
  • Checking windows, doors, security alarm
  • Seasonal measures (protection from cold in winter, protection from heat in summer)
  • A final "all in order" photo report to our communication channel

Additional services on request

You can add to the basic package:

  • Shopping for food and household supplies from your list — the cost of the goods is by receipt, our time is charged separately.
  • Pick-up at the airport or train station — we bring you to the property, handy if you arrive late or with heavy luggage.
  • Special seasonal preparations — warming up an alpine home over 2–3 days, thawing the pipework after winter closing-down.
  • Preparation for guests with special requests — a cot, extra sets of bed linen.

How it works in practice

  1. You tell us your arrival and departure dates

Ideally 7–10 days before arrival — so we can plan the visits and agree the details.

  2. We agree the checklist

The basic set plus your wishes: which groceries, what time you arrive, whether preparation for guests is needed, special seasonal measures.

  3. Preparation before your arrival

We come out 1–2 days before you arrive. We do everything on the checklist, photograph it, and send you a "home is ready" report. If anything needs adjusting — there's time.

  4. Arrival day

The home is waiting for you ready by the time you arrive. If you wish, we can meet you in person at the property — that's a separate one-off visit.

  5. Closing up after your departure

After you leave — usually the same day or the next — we close up the home to the checklist, photograph it, and send you the "all in order" report.

  6. We keep your profile

After the first cycle we record your checklist — grocery preferences, bed linen sets, the home's particulars. On your next arrival, everything is already set up.

What the service does not include

  • Regular visits during your absence — between arrival and departure we don't monitor the home. Property Care is the right fit for that.
  • Long-term rental management — Rental Support is the right fit for that.
  • Major repairs or seasonal landscaping work — these are separate categories.

The price depends on the size of the property, the volume of work, and what your preparation involves specifically for you. Property Care subscribers get a 10% discount and priority. Some smaller tasks (checking the heating system before you arrive) can be covered by package hours.
